Jeans for Genes

Progress Educational Trust believes that learning about the science of human reproduction and genetics can never start too soon. The younger we start to understand reproductive and genetic science, the better.

To this end, the Trust provides schools information on genetics each year as part of Jeans for Genes Day. In association with the Institute of Education and the Institute of Child Health, the Trust produces The Science Behind Jeans for Genes Day, aimed at both primary and secondary schools students.

The Science Behind Jeans for Genes Day packs include ideas for teachers on classroom activities, homework assignments and assemblies. The packs also contain posters, personal stories, a glossary of specialist terms and a free copy of the Progress guide to genetics.
