An evening of words and images celebrating 21 years of in vitro fertilisation
Louise Brown, the first 'test tube' baby, was born in the summer of 1978. Over the 21 years since her birth, in vitro fertilisation has become a routine medical treatment available throughout the world. But IVF continues to attract considerable attention from the media, the public and from politicians.
The two lectures at Test tube histories looked back over the developments in assisted reproduction since the birth of Louise Brown and considered how public attitudes to IVF have changed over the years.
