Published by PET in partnership with the Royal College of Nursing, this booklet is the fully-updated third edition of 'The Progress Guide to genetics', first published in 1999- now in a handy pocket size format.This accessibly written reference source is essential reading for teachers, health professionals and their patients, genetic counsellors and anyone wishing to increase their understanding of what genes are and how they work. Topics include genetic testing, gene therapy, preimplantation genetic diagnosis, genetic testing in pregnancy, genetic counselling and ethical issues, plus a comprehensive glossary and details of support groups and genetic centres in the UK.
