The Department of Health and Social Care used to fund an organisation to raise the profile of the need for egg and sperm donors, but they have not had any funding for a number of years.
In response to the launch of a campaign for donors in Scotland, she added: 'A similar campaign needs to be done in England and Wales - across all the nations.'
Like any form of donation, you need constant reminders to people, just as is done for blood donation for example.
