I'm Jen, for the last seven years I have been the Legal Editor at Bionews and the Projects Officer at PET.
Today is my last day working for PET, but I will continue to be involved as a volunteer, as I was before I joined the staff. One of the things I will continute to do is write reviews for BioNews, something I've only done a few times during my time as editor, but that I enjoyed enormously.
My review of the novel Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro, published in 2021, has been steadily getting more search engine hits, and has stealthily made its way among some of BioNews most-read articles. This certainly wasn't something I or any of the other editors forsaw, but it's one of the lovely aspects of the job when something we have published finds success.
In the same way, we love to see our volunteer writers, and PET volunteers go on to achieve success in their lives and careers, and to hear about, and share in their triumphs.
We really could not do what we do at PET without our volunteers, and I will be very proud to count myself among them.
