Chair and Trustees
The Donor Conception Network (DCN) is looking for new Trustees to strengthen its skill base and replace departing Trustees. In particular, we are looking for a Trustee to take the role of Chair.
This is an exciting time to join our board. We have a five-year strategy in place, with ambitious plans for the future. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people, with a commitment to the aims of DCN, to join us as Trustees.
Applicants should support fertility treatment and donor conception in general, and appreciate the value of openness in families. You might have personal experience and knowledge of infertility issues, including donor conception or surrogacy.
Our members represent diverse family types. Approximately half are heterosexual couples, with the remainder being solo mums and same-sex couples. They are geographically and ethnically diverse, based across the UK and internationally. We want our Trustees to mirror some of this diversity. Of our six current Trustees, four have themselves used donor conception to create their families.
We are particularly interested in recruiting someone for the role of Chair. Please indicate on your application if you would like to be considered in that capacity. We are interested to hear from applicants who have worked on committees, boards or as Trustees, but this is only essential if you are applying for the position of Chair.
Trustees normally meet three times a year in a central London location, either in person or via Zoom, and may have other online meetings through the year. Meetings are held during the working day, usually on a Wednesday morning.
Trustees communicate mainly via email between meetings. Due to the nature of the DCN's work and funding, there is an expectation that Trustees will contribute actively to the work of the charity. Trustees will receive reasonable out-of-pocket expenses.
Further information about the Trustee role can be found in this information pack.
Additional information about the Chair of Trustees role can be found here.
To apply, please send a CV and a covering letter to at enquiries@dcnetwork.org
Your covering letter should describe your interest in our work and the contribution you can make, and provide examples to demonstrate how you meet the criteria set out in the information pack.
Deadline for applications: 5pm, Monday 7 September 2026
Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be held online on 17/18 September 2026. Final decisions will be made within a week.
We are due to hold a Trustee meeting from 10am-1pm on Wednesday 21 October 2026, and would hope that newly appointed Trustees would be able to attend, either in person or online.
We are due to hold our next Annual General Meeting at our in person Annual Conference in north London on Sunday 18 April 2027, and would hope to introduce new Trustees there.
