The Australian Law Reform Commission has published a Discussion Paper covering a range of issues and proposals about surrogacy regulation. The Commission is inviting feedback on these options for reform, to contribute to a final report, and said: 'We want to encourage submissions from people who have personal experience of surrogacy. This includes surrogates, intended parents, parents through surrogacy, and people born through surrogacy.'
Responses can be confidential, and the Commission will de-identify any responses which may identify people involved in surrogacy arrangements.
The call for submissions will remain open until 19 December 2025.
