A woman whose botched bowel surgery left her infertile has had a baby via a US surrogate, paid for by damages she won from the NHS, according to the Mirror.
She was able to receive the compensation after the Supreme Court ruled in 2020 that a different woman could claim the cost of overseas surrogacy as part of damages for mismanaged cancer treatment which meant she lost her fertility (see BioNews 1042).
