Between 2020 and 2024, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers collected DNA samples from approximately 2000 people.
According to a report from Georgetown's Centre on Privacy and Technology, the DNA information was shared with the FBI and stored in a database called the Combined DNA Index System (Codis).
