Professor Imogen Goold called for women to have better education about egg freezing at this year's PET Conference.
The Daily Mail reported:
Speaking at the annual conference of the fertility charity Progress Educational Trust (PET) last week, Professor Goold said: 'I think the worst thing is to sell egg freezing to women in their late 30s. Because selling it to someone who's 39, in the hope that she can use that egg when she is 45, really is problematic.'
Professor Goold, a professor of medical law at the University of Oxford, made the comments during her presentation 'Stopping the Clock? Why Women Want to Freeze Their Eggs, and Why We Should Let Them' in the final session of the day 'Fertility Preservation: Windows of Opportunity'.
The full write-up of the session will appear in next week's BioNews, so stay tuned!
