The Oireachtas health committee has called on the Irish government to bring forward legislation to recognise legal parentage of Irish citizens living abroad who have children via surrogacy.
The committee also recommended that a path to parenthood should be provided for same-sex couples returning to Ireland with children conceived and born in countries which do not recognise both same-sex parents.
