The UK government has passed a new law which sets out transitional provisions for storage of frozen gametes and embryos of people who died prior to 1 July 2022.
The change follows the abolition of the old ten-year for storage of frozen embryos and gametes (see BioNews 1111) which was modernised in response to PET's #ExtendtheLimit campaign.
The new regulations provide clarity regarding embryos or gametes belonging to people who died before the extended storage period came into force. Read more here.
