Peter Giles Thurnham 1938-2008

I am sure I speak for many friends of the Progress Educational Trust is saying how saddened we are to hear of Peter's death on May 10th after a short illness. Peter was member of Parliament for Bolton North East from 1983-1997. He was immensely supportive of the Progress Campaign leading up to the 1990 Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act and thereafter of the Progress Educational Trust serving on our advisory committee throughout the 1990s. A caring, thoughtful person, Peter was always most encouraging about what PET was trying to achieve and helped us in many ways. Our thoughts are with Peter's family at this time.
