Poland's main left-wing opposition, Lewica, has pledged to reinstate state IVF funding if they win the next election, due in the autumn, Notes from Poland reported.
The policy was announced as it was shown one Polish city alone had funded 455 IVF cycles resulting in live births, since the current Government had ended state funding in 2014, Notes from Poland also reported (see BioNews 1160).
The news came shortly before a pro-democracy rally in Warsaw, Poland attracted hundreds of thousands, including campaigners for women's reproductive rights, the Guardian reported.
