People in prison in the Republic of Ireland will be able to access fertility treatments such as IVF and intrauterine insemination under the new Assisted Reproduction Bill.
The Bill details plans to roll out state-funded fertility treatment across Ireland from September this year (see BioNews 1176).
Senator Seery Kearney told the : 'It will mean for men and women behind bars, they will be able to go through IVF and intrauterine insemination or continue treatment if they are in the middle of it when they go into prison'.
