The Committee of Inquiry into Human Fertilisation and Embryology, known as the Warnock Committee, published its report in 1984, calling for the enshrining in legislation of the 'special status' of the human embryo and setting the terms by which assisted conception and embryo research would be regulated.
Forty years later, PET (the Progress Educational Trust) revisited the questions posed by the Warnock Report at its 2024 Annual Conference (see BioNews 1268a, 1268b, 1269a, and 1269b).
