Kam Uddin, an Asian woman in the UK, has donated stem cells after discovering she was a match for a boy in Germany with cancer.
There is a shortage of donors from the Asian community, and Uddin hopes her experience will help to address this.
Uddin signed up to the donor register of blood cancer charity DKMS in 2019.
A DKMS spokesperson told the BBC: 'If you are found to be a match for someone needing a transplant, then in nine out of ten cases donating your stem cells is a simple process similar to giving blood.'
