A man who won £3000 on a TV quiz show spent the winnings on IVF treatment with his wife, who gave birth to triplets as a result.
Jamie McEvoy and his wife already had a one-year old son, and were hoping for another child. They spent around £30,000 on fertility treatment overall.
'I found out on the morning before filming that the latest [IVF cycle] had failed. At the time, we didn't think we could afford another round,' he told the BBC. 'There is no way we would have been able to afford the treatments and rounds that led to the babies without the money [from the show]'.
