Olivia Goff is a Volunteer Writer at BioNews, having originally joined the publication under the auspices of its writing scheme. She is studying for a PhD in Neuroscience at University College London's Queen Square Institute of Neurology, where she works in the laboratory of Professor Dimitri Kullmann, within the Department of Clinical and Experimental Epilepsy. Her research is specifically aimed to develop novel gene therapies to treat refractory, focal epilepsy. She previously obtained a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol. Alongside her research, Olivia is a green representative for her department exploring ways in which the labs can employ more sustainable ways of working.
