Healthy men, who are not in an occupation which may compromise their fertility, do not need to freeze their sperm proactively. The quantity and quality of a man's sperm may decrease somewhat with age, but most men over the age of 35 will continue to be fertile. We can all think of male celebrities who have fathered children naturally at an advanced age, such as Charlie Chaplin and Mick Jagger, who were both aged 73 when they became fathers again. Furthermore, if men rely on using frozen sperm later in life, then this will result in their female partner having to undergo fertility treatment – which has no guarantee of success.
