The rest of the world might not have noticed - and there's no reason why it should - but the UK is currently in election mode. On 7 June, Britain will vote for a new government. But whilst politicians and their supporters are busy telling the country about their tax policies or transport plans, public discussion about science has gone a little quiet.
But no matter. The relative peace that the build up to the general election has brought about in the UK gives us the opportunity to make some pledges of our own. We are currently developing a new dedicated BioNews website which will be launched later this year. The site will provide background information on a variety of issues, interviews with and opinion pieces by leading commentators, as well as reviews, listings and recommendations.
The BioNews emails will continue to be published on a weekly basis (you've told us that's what you like), but they will be supplemented by news and comment on the new BioNews site which will be frequently updated. It's all part of our pledge to provide you with up-to-date news, useful information and insightful comment in assisted reproduction and genetics.
You don't have vote for us, but we will be providing you with plenty of opportunity to give us your feedback and ideas. And we'll listen.
