Professor Osamu Ishihara, Dr Seung Chik Jwa, and Dr Eri Maeda met with PET director Sarah Norcross as part of their fact finding mission to the UK. The team from Japan were gathering information regarding governmental reporting of the performance of fertility clinics with a view to introducing such a system .
Did you know that Japan has 600 fertility clinics? In the Uk we have around 70. Also they have no equivalent of the UK's Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority. It is no wonder that fertility patients in Japan could do with some data on success rates to help them choose where to have their treatment.
