Sandy Starr was a panel speaker at a discussion entitled 'Bye Bye Baby? The Birth Rate Debate', held as part of the Battle of Ideas festival in London.
The discussion explored the causes and consequences of falling birthrates in the UK and other parts of the world, and asked whether and how this trend should be addressed via policy. Sandy – who is deputy director of PET – discussed the challenges involved in assisted conception.
The discussion was held in association with the University of Kent's Centre for Parenting Culture Studies, whose director – Professor Ellie Lee – spoke alongside Sandy on the panel.
