The PET team returned to the Science Museum for another of their successful 'Lates' events. This time PET helped bring their '60 years of Star Trek' exhibition to a close. The event also saw fans attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the most simultaneous Vulcan salutes!
PET's exhibition - 'Can You Make a Khan?' - was back by popular demand. We explored whether it would be scientifically possible, and legally permissible, to create a genetically augmented human, like Star Trek villain Khan Noonien Singh.
PET also featured a fantastic short video from PET's Chair of Trustees Professor Robin Lovell-Badge, where he shares his experience of real-life events in Shenzhen that inspired the fictional Shenzhen Convention in Star Trek. You can watch this video here.
We were joined for the evening by our superstar volunteers Claire Piper, Miruna Dragulin, Siqi Yin, and Vishnuka Sooriyakumar who kindly shared their expertise and encouraged fans to share their own thoughts on the subject of genome editing.
Thank you to the Science Museum and Paramount for having us again, and to all the Star Trek fans who joined in so enthusiastically!
