Our friends at the Science Museum teamed up with Paramount to host a very special edition of their popular 'Lates' series, celebrating 60 years of Star Trek! The event was a huge success, packed to the rafters with fans exploring the science behind Star Trek.
PET's exhibition - 'Can You Make a Khan?' - explored whether it would be scientifically possible, and legally permissable, to create a genetically augmented human, like Star Trek villain Khan Noonien Singh.
We also featured a fantastic short video from PET's Chair of Trustees Professor Robin Lovell-Badge, where he shares his experience of real-life events in Shenzhen that inspired the fictional Shenzhen Convention in Star Trek. You can watch this video here.
We were joined for the evening by our outstanding volunteers Iona Aylwin and Miruna Dragulin who kindly shared their expertise and encouraged fans to share their own thoughts on the subject of genetic engineering.
Thank you to the Science Museum and Paramount for having us, and for a fantastically fun evening!
Live long and prosper!
