Researchers from Sydney, Australia, have published a case report of Australia's first live birth following a uterus transplant, as part of a clinical trial on uterine factor infertility. A healthy baby boy was born via caesarean section at 37 weeks gestation in 2023.
Sharing their findings in the Medical Journal of Australia, the researchers said: 'The first live birth after uterus transplantation in Australia confirms that it could be a solution for women with uterine factor infertility who wish to have children with whom they are biologically related.'
