The European Fertility Society Education Programme is running a survey that aims to capture how generative AI is influencing interactions between fertility professionals and patients.
Many fertility professionals are now noticing that patients are arriving at consultations having already used generative AI chatbots to research treatment options, interpret medical information, prepare questions, seek reassurance or better understand their fertility journey. Alongside this, social media and AI-generated fertility content are increasingly shaping the information patients encounter before they ever enter a clinic.
While this may improve access to information and support for some people, it also raises important questions around trust, misinformation, communication, expectations and the changing nature of interactions between patients and medical practitioners within fertility care.
The survey's authors are interested in understanding how fertility professionals are currently experiencing these changes to support future discussions around patient communication, digital health and professional practice. Findings will be shared through professional conferences, publications, social media and the European Fertility Society Education Programme.
The survey takes two minutes and can be accessed here. All responses are completely anonymous: no names, email addresses, clinic names or identifiable information will be collected.
