This week's edition of BioNews sees the return of a familiar name, James Brooks. James left BioNews last year after three years as Science Editor, and we are now delighted to welcome him back in the role of Genetics Editor. We wish our outgoing Genetics Editor, Kirsty Oswald, good luck in her freelance career.
James will join current Science Editor Ayala Ochert and Legal Editor Antony Blackburn-Starza to bring you BioNews each week. People are always amazed that BioNews is put together by three part-time staff, working the equivalent hours of just one full-time employee.
This is not always easy. As I have discussed previously, we have had technical problems including difficulties sending the weekly BioNews email. One of the ways we are dealing with this is by making certain that every email address on our mailing list is valid.
We therefore need all of our readers to go to www.bionews.org.uk/subscription and confirm their subscription to our weekly email, if they wish to continue receiving it. If you have already done this then thank you!
We will soon be moving to a new system for sending our emails, that is better able to handle our requirements. But making technical changes and replacing staff all comes at a cost, and that is why we are launching an Appeal today to raise £3,000.
Please give what you can to help us reach this target, and help us give BioNews a much-needed upgrade. You can donate via PayPal (click here), by text (text 'PROG23 £10' or any other amount to 70070), or by post (as detailed here).
