Can you help share this research opportunity?
PET has been asked to share a research study that may resonate with many in our community.
The researcher is exploring the emotional and psychological impact of long waiting times for gynaecological and reproductive healthcare – including how delays affect mental health, identity, and day-to-day life. With waiting lists growing across the UK, there is increasing recognition of the physical consequences – but far less understanding of the emotional toll.
This study aims to change that. By listening closely to people’s lived experiences, it hopes to build a fuller picture of how it feels to wait – and to use those insights to help improve future care and support.
Participants will be invited to take part in a one-hour, one-to-one online interview at a time that suits them. They must be:
- Aged 18+
- UK-based
- Have/had female reproductive organs
- Have experienced what felt like a long or distressing wait for any kind of gynaecological or reproductive care (past or present)
Sharing these stories will help bring much-needed depth to the conversation around healthcare delays — and amplify the voices of those too often left unheard.
Participation is entirely voluntary. The researcher is a qualified counsellor and has designed the study with emotional wellbeing and participant choice as core priorities.
