The European Court of Human Rights has ruled a gay couple and their six-year-old daughter born via surrogacy can not replace the name of the surrogate's husband on her birth certificate, with that of her biological father.
As the surrogate and her husband did not consent to the making of a parental order after the girl's birth, they are listed as her parents. The court found that the case brought by the daughter and her other father, the partner of her biological father was 'manifestly unfounded' and was in accordance with UK law the Guardian reports.
