Researchers in the Netherlands have shown that about seven percent of women in the country carry a genetic variant that increases the odds of inconclusive results from non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), which uses cell-free DNA to determine risk of certain genetic conditions.
Results are published in Cell Reports.
