The Women and Equalities Committee of the House of Commons is currently holding an inquiry into egg donation and egg freezing (see BioNews 1315a and 1315b). It is important that this inquiry takes the voices of egg donors into account. The eight films below were made as part of the EDNA study, and feature egg donors discussing different aspects of egg donation in their own words.
The EDNA study spent several years exploring egg donation in the UK, Belgium and Spain (see BioNews 1145). The project was conducted by researchers at De Montfort University's Centre for Reproduction Research, the Bioethics Institute Ghent and the Consejo Superior Investigaciones Científicas, and was funded by the Economic and Social Research Council.
We are grateful to the women who took part in the production of these films, and to our collaborators at the Donor Conception Network, Fertility Network UK, the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, Mutual Shoots, and the SEED Trust.
