The case of C and Anor v E concerned intended parents C and D's application for an adoption order to be legally recognised as parents of baby G, born via surrogacy in the USA.
Neither C nor D were genetically related to the child, therefore they were unable to apply for a parental order under the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 2008. Mr Justice MacDonald granted the adoption order in the best interests of the child.
