UK Biobank has published a paper in Nature, marking a major milestone in its genetics and genomics mission. Over 490,000 whole human genomes have now been sequenced, revealing a host of previously unknown disease links in the process.
This achievement makes it one of the world's biggest continuing population-based studies. About 1.5 billion genetic variants have been found in participants of the study.
