A clinic in Japan has suspended treatments after reporting it had provided IVF to a woman, who concealed her husband's death from the clinic, knowing this rendered her ineligible to use donor sperm.
IVF is only available to married couples in Japan, and while there are no provisions for the death of a partner during IVF treatment, there are concerns that the sperm donor could assume legal parenthood of the child, Japan Times reported.
