Dr Mair Crouch has dual qualifications with degrees in biosciences and the law. She is a member of the Department of Biolaw, at the International Chair in Bioethics. She previously worked in the field of medical genetics within the NHS, and was a member of the UK Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority from 2008-2013 and the Scottish Government Advisory Board for 'Generation Scotland' from 2004- 2010. She was an honorary lecturer in Bioethics at the University of Glasgow from 2006 to 2020. She published 'Medical Genetics + Law' in October 2022. The second edition, 'Medical Genetics and Law: An International Perspective', was published by Springer in May 2025.
