Paul Waldron was a Volunteer Writer at BioNews, having originally joined the publication under the auspices of its writing scheme. He is currently working as a Trainee Patent Attorney in the Chemistry and Life Sciences group at Keltie LLP in London, working with a range of clients active in the fields of industrial biotechnology, petrochemicals, medical devices and cellular therapies. Before this he studied for a PhD at University College London's Institute of Ophthalmology, where his research focused on developing therapies for restoring vision in retinal diseases, by transplanting new light-sensitive cone cells into mouse retinas. Previously, he studied Natural Sciences at Emmanuel College at the University of Cambridge, where he specialised in Cognitive Neuroscience.
