Peter Taylor
Trustee
Peter Taylor is a trustee of the Progress Educational Trust (PET), and Chairs PET's Advisory Committee. He is Assistant Director of Public Health Commissioning at Norfolk County Council; an Expert Adviser in Healthcare Commissioning for NICE; and a Reviewer for the National Institute of Health Research.
He began his career as a commissioner in the North East of England, where he led on a range of service reforms and held a diverse portfolio including Assisted Conception and Fertility Preservation, Sexual Health, Urology and Gynaecology. During this time, undertook a Department of Health programme looking at the potential of NHS payment tariffs for regulated fertility services.
Peter has also worked as Head of Market Policy at NHS London and as a Senior Policy Adviser at the Cooperation and Competition Panel for NHS-Funded Services, where he was involved in many aspects of the Health and Social Care Act and the changing architecture of commissioning in the NHS. He was a member of the Guideline Development Group that oversaw the update of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE)'s Clinical Guideline Fertility: Assessment and Treatment for People with Fertility Problems.
In addition to his Trustee role with PET, Peter is a Board Director for Spectra CIC, an LGBT not for profit operating both a community interest company and charity in London; and a trustee on the Council of SeeAbility where he is Chair of their People & Quality Committee and the Council’s Designated Safeguarding Lead.
