Dr Tatiana Giovannucci is a Volunteer Writer at BioNews, having originally joined under the auspices of its writing scheme. Tatiana is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Neurology, University College London (UCL). She studies the turnover of proteins relevant to neurodegeneration using isotope labelling and targeted mass spectrometry in induced-pluripotent stem cell neuronal models and human samples. She is a scientific member of the Neurofilament Light Consortium between four pharmaceutical companies, UCL and Washington University in St Louis and an Alzheimer's Association Research Fellow. Previously, she obtained her PhD from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, and studied Biomedicine degrees at the University of Barcelona, Spain.
