Scientists from the Institute for Cell Biology at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Essen, Germany, have developed an automated method to grow lung organoids.
The lung organoids – called iPSC-LuOrgs – were produced from human induced pluripotent stem cells.
Publishing their research in Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, the scientists hope the lung organoids could aid in the development of treatments for lung disease.
