This past year has been very successful for the Progress Educational Trust (PET), the charity which publishes BioNews. BioNews has played a crucial part in that success, widening debate on key topics such as mitochondrial donation by publishing opinion pieces from a range of perspectives, and by covering relevant proceedings in Parliament and elsewhere.
BioNews has also published articles about all of PET's public events, bringing these discussions to many more people than we could fit in a lecture theatre. In short, BioNews is a vital part of PET's work informing debate on assisted conception, genetics and stem cell and embryo research.
It is now more than six years since our last major overhaul of the BioNews website and email news digest. In that time, a lot has changed in web design and how people read online content. In particular, there has been an increase in people's use of smartphones, tablets and social media.
The BioNews editors and PET staff are keen to understand you and your views of BioNews - and most importantly, how you think the publication could be improved. So we need every single one of you to complete the BioNews Reader Survey 2015.
The survey is online, easy to complete, and should take only a few minutes of your time. There are four short sections - 'You and BioNews', 'BioNews content', 'BioNews design' and 'About you'.
This is your opportunity to tell us what you think - what aspects of BioNews you like, what aspects of BioNews you don't like, and what you'd like to see more of and less of.
Please take five minutes to complete the survey, by clicking here. We can only keep BioNews relevant and enjoyable to read with your input.
This is also our opportunity to find out more about our readership, which helps us attract advertisers and informs our grant applications. This in turn improves our funding, which means that by completing our survey, you are helping ensure that BioNews can continue being offered for free.
