Out and about: escaping the office to attend the Genomics England Research Summit in London

Published 4 May 2022

PET's director Sarah Norcross and deputy director Sandy Starr escaped from the PET office to attend the Genomics England (GEL) Research Summit. There was a star-studded line-up including Professor Dame Sue Hill (chief scientific officer for England) and Baroness Nicola Blackwood (chair of GEL's board). There was an excellent session on the Newborn Genomes Programme which featured Dr Rich Scott (GEL's chief medical officer), Arzoo Ahmed (GEL's ethics lead) and others who have taken part in PET's events discussing this important initiative. We must give a shout-out to Jillian Hastings Ward, chair of the Participant Panel which has just published a guide on language and terminology.
