A participant in a Phase III clinical trial has died after receiving Intellia's experimental CRISPR/Cas9-based gene therapy.
The participant, a man in his 80s, received medical treatment in hospital after a single dose of the gene therapy, which was developed to treat transthyretin (ATTR) amyloidosis, a rare disease affecting the heart and nerves (see BioNews 1313).
