Preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) is a controversial IVF add-on. Its proponents say it can improve IVF success, but others argue it can lead to needlessly discarding embryos that would have developed normally.
A new study, on only 100 patients, suggests that PGT-A may be helpful in specific groups of patients, in this case women over 35. The women who had their embryos evaluated using PGT-A had, on average, fewer unsuccessful embryo transfers before becoming pregnant.
