A woman who, four years ago, became Britain's oldest mother of an IVF baby, has given birth to her second child just two months before her 56th birthday. Pauline Lyons caused controversy when it became clear she had lied about her age in order to gain access to fertility treatment five years ago. Ian Craft, director of the London Gynaecology and Fertility Centre, said that there had been natural conceptions at the age of 55 - the upper age limit set by the centre for fertility treatment. Mrs Lyons' record was toppled last year by Liz Buttle from West Wales, who also hid her age, when she became the oldest woman to have a baby after IVF in Britain. Ms Buttle was also treated at Professor Craft's clinic.
