South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) has decided to reduce the number of NHS-funded IVF cycles from two to one for new referrals.
The decision follows a public consultation, in which over 80 percent of respondents said they wanted to see the ICB continue to offer two NHS-funded cycles (see BioNews 1313). The change has prompted criticism from local councillors and MPs.
BBC News and Sheffield newspaper The Star have more details, and you can check the number of cycles offered by any ICB in England on PET's Fertility Policy Tracker.
