Rachel Cutting, principal embryologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
The honour, for services to Infertility Treatment, recognises Cutting's contribution to research and her involvement in professional bodies and national organisations.
Cutting, who was chair of the Association of Clinical Embryologists between 2011 and 2014, was involved in developing national guidelines for implementing single embryo transfer and was a part of the 'One at a Time' campaign advocating the technique. She was also awarded the Healthcare Scientist of the Year award in 2012 in recognition of this work.
Cutting said: 'Receiving this honour is a source of immense pride for me. Whilst I received the award, it reflects the hard work done by many dedicated people who I am fortunate to work alongside, and I would like to thank my colleagues for all the support they have given me.'
