Elsa Loissel is a Science Editor at BioNews and the charity that publishes it, the Progress Educational Trust (PET). She also works as a freelance science writer, editorial consultant and grant editor.
Elsa was previously a Senior Features Editor for the magazine section of the open access journal eLife, where she covered research culture and translated complex science into clear and accessible narratives. She originally studied Biology at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (BSc and MSc), before conducting research in comparative cognition at the University of Cambridge and other institutions. When not at her keyboard, Elsa can be found doing street photography, planning her next backpacking trip, or crocheting amigurumi.
