Dr Roger Gosden is a visiting scholar at William & Mary University in Virginia, After a long career in reproductive science beginning under Sir Robert Edwards at the University of Cambridge, Dr Gosden now lives in Virginia with his wife, Lucinda Veeck, the embryologist for America's first IVF baby. After lecturing at Edinburgh Medical School for many years, he opened a professorial unit at the University of Leeds, focusing research on fertility preservation. He subsequently became a research director at McGill University and the Jones Institute in Virginia, finishing his laboratory career in New York City at Weill Cornell Medical College.
