Business Manager at Aberdeen Fertility Centre
Alison McTavish is a Trustee at the Progress Educational Trust (PET), and is Chair of Trustees at the British Fertility Society. She is also a member of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), and she sits on the HFEA's Licence Committee. She is also one of the founders of the Aberdeen Fertility Centre, where she was initially Nurse Manager and subsequently Quality and Business Manager. She was a member of the National Infertility Group convened by the Scottish Government, in which capacity she worked on developing national criteria for NHS funding of IVF, and on the establishment of a national sperm bank within the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service.
Alison is a Registered Nurse and Midwife, and is a founding member of the Senior Infertility Nurse Group. She has contributed to articles in journals including Fertility and Sterility, Human Fertility and Human Reproduction. She is Nurse Adviser to the International Federation of Fertility Societies, helping to deliver educational events in Ghana, Nigeria, Shanghai and Central America countries.
